There is a big gap between urban and rural education. Resources among them are very different causing inequality in many countries. Some students have very creative minds, yet they don't have the opportunity to get higher education. Some students don't even attend high school.
Our organization brings attention to these issues.
June 2019 - Rolling Hills Prep President, Chuhan Lin, leads students to Zhejian, China. With a re-design to the Inspire Creativity curriculum, the team travels to China to share the design process through hands-on workshops.
Early 2019 - ICI club at Rolling Hills Prep was established. Chuhan Lin reaches out to ICI with the hopes of establishing a new chapter. ICI expands!
September 2017 - ICI club at PVSHS was established. After joining Inspire Creativity Initiative on its summer teaching trip to China during her sophomore year (summer 2017), Yuexi Wei decided to establish a club at her high school to get more students involved in the mission.
February 2015 - Inspire Creativity Inc. (ICI) shipped the donated school supplies and books that we have collected over the past year to rural China. The 12 large boxes of supplies will reach 4 schools.
February 2015 - ICI received a Certificate of Recognition from California State Senator Ben Allen for our “commitment to enriching the lives of underprivileged students through creativity and design."
October 2014 - Founder, Kris Hsu, went to represent ICI at the 106th annual National Rural Education Association (NREA) Convention and Symposium. His talk, "How to Inspire Rural Students", introduced his story and impacts of our non-profit organization.
September 2014 - ICI's club at California Academy of Math and Science started a new semester! Several interested underclassmen have joined putting us at 30+ student volunteers!
